How well do you know him?
Recently I was asked to give my opinion about one of my companions with whom I had lived a couple of years. I had to follow a set of questions. The very first question was- ‘how well do you know him?’ When I saw it I thought I know him sufficiently well as we lived together and have had many sweet memories. But then as I proceeded further I found it very difficult to continue. I had to give a pause. I thought for a while. I asked myself if some of my friends are asked to give their opinions about me with all these questions how many of them will be able to give!
Recently I came across a short write-up written by one of my good friends on his blog. He had touched upon about the human relationship. Very rightly he pointed out that we want everything instant including our friendships! At the end, as a way of suggestion, he said that we need to give time to cultivate and foster our friendship. This is the only key to begin a relationship.
‘Busy’ seems to be one the most used words of our times. Very often we say, think, pretend, act like a busy man. Sometimes it may be true that we are busy. The world is too demanding. We are all looking or searching for something. This makes us busy. But in the process of looking for something unknown, unseen if we ignore our present then we miss something precious.
Like my friend I do strongly feel that we need to time out to develop our human relationship. We need to get ourselves involved in the life of others. Then only we will be able to answer the question like ‘how well do you know him?’ and also others will be able to answer about you and me! Are you ready?
